Final phase accelerator programme kicks off on April 10th

Amsterdam, Netherlands, 16 March 2012 – Startupbootcamp, the pan European start-up accelerator programme, has announced the final participants for the programme that will start on April 10th in Amsterdam.
During the ‘Startupbootcamp in 2 days’ event that took place on March 13th and 14th in the Vodafone headquarters in Amsterdam the twenty finalists presented their business ideas to over twenty mentors who rated them on criteria including team setting, business concept and fundability. At the end of the two day event the final participants of the Startupbootcamp programme in Amsterdam were announced.
These are in alphabetical order: Doctorkinect (poland) Eigenta (àndia) Feudalsquare (spanje) Layergloss (nl) Localsensor (nl) Mipagar (nl) Poikos (uk) Scrapconnection (us-nl) SocialExpress (be) Viewsy (uk) The participants will arrive in Amsterdam on April 10th to begin the intensive, three month Startupbootcamp programme that will prepare them for Investor Day on July 6th. During this event the start-ups will have the opportunity to present themselves in front of a large group of (angel) investors to attract funding.
Ruud Hendriks and Patrick de Zeeuw, co-founders of Startupbootcamp, are very excited with the final ten participants. "When start-ups make the investment to come over here, its shows their commitment is real. We are very thankful we had the opportunity to get all these great teams here together, equally giving and getting inspiration. Fortunately we can continue this path with the top ten start-ups and look to the exciting developments that each participating group will bring.”
"The last two days have been extremely busy and have already proven very valuable,” comments Eleanor Watson, founder and managing director of Poikos, a UK-based company set out to revolutionize the use of 3D-technology. "Based on the feedback we received we have already been able to improve our story and pitch. For us, Amsterdam is a gateway to the continental markets and we are sure the counseling and network of Startupbootcamp Amsterdam will help us to achieve our goals. In particular, we expect that it will help us to target the healthcare market and succeeding on this market will be of the utmost importance to the success of Poikos.”
"We applied to Startupbootcamp Amsterdam because the Startupbootcamp program really is the reference among accelerator programs,” explains Jennifer Vela, chief marketing officer of Feudalsquare, a location-based gaming company. "Frankly, we expect this program to provide us with an acceleration which is unimaginable outside of Silicon Valley. Amsterdam especially is a great place to be if your market is the gaming industry. We have already received great feedback, especially from gaming pundit Reinout te Brake, CEO of iQU. We have to say that even if we had not won, the trip would very much have been worth our while.”
