Being listed for just the third time ever, HHL's Master in Management program (M.Sc.) was ranked number 1 in Germany and in 11th place worldwide (2011: 19th place, 2010: 38th place), leaving a large number of well-known national and international business schools behind. The ranking certifies the oldest business school in the German-speaking area with a top rank for its M.Sc. program with regard to the career prospects of its alumni (2nd place internationally). In the assessment of focal points, HHL reached the first place in the field of "Entrepreneurship". HHL additionally reached the top 10 in "Corporate Strategy”, "General Management", "Finance", and "Marketing".
The FT "Masters in Management" ranking, which rate 65 business schools, is considered to be one of the most comprehensive and significant internationally of its kind for Master programs with a focus on General Management.
The ranking uses data from two surveys. One surveys the university alumni who graduated three years ago about their current situation. The other collects data from the schools themselves. HHL Dean Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart says: "We are thrilled about having taken another leap forward in this most important ranking of Master programs. Advancing yet again among the world's leading Master in Management programs is motivation for us to continue to pursue our innovate125 HHL Future Concept. In addition to the expansion and ongoing internationalization of our faculty, we are constantly working on raising the level of quality in research and teaching, creating additional programs and on increasing the number of students as well as our involvement in strong regional and global networks. By 2023, HHL would like to have established itself sustainably among the top 10 graduate schools in Europe."
HHL's students of the Master Program in Management (M.Sc.) are also excited about the positive result of their alma mater in the FT ranking. About his motivation to study at HHL says the Uzbek Omon Fayziev (22), who completed his Bachelor studies at the Tashkent Financial Institute: "For me as an international student at HHL this was the friendliest and the most open Business School I contacted in Germany. And I really appreciate the integration in the HHL community and getting used to the high standards of business education in Germany.” His German fellow-student Alexander Kolano (26), who holds a Bachelor degree from the Southern Oregon University in the U.S., says: "I was attracted to HHL by its excellent reputation and do not regret my decision at all. The international atmosphere on campus, as well as the network of outstanding schools around the world is what makes the HHL spirit so unique."
