Amsterdam, March 31st 2011: The new version of the free "SysCalc” planning software for photovoltaic installations is now available for download from the Mastervolt website. It considers the current German requirements for the reactive power behavior of inverters and is fully functional without internet connection. Installers can access the data of almost 4,000 module types and all available Mastervolt inverters, including the new three-phase Mastervolt products, when planning an installation.
"SysCalc” is available for download at http://www.mastervolt.com/syscalcin German, Italian, English, French, Dutch and Spanish. For an in-depth explanation of reactive power, a white paper is available at http://www.mastervolt.com/downloads.
The program was developed especially for simple operation and speeds up the selection of the right number of modules, suitable inverters and cabling layout. 'SysCalc” is one of the few available solutions which also include the effects of reactive power on transmission losses. Additional functions such as information on the recommended operating voltage and the AC voltage for the selected plant configuration are also featured. In comparison with solutions from other providers, "SysCalc” also considers the special characteristics of Mastervolt inverters, such as the particularly low required startup voltage, which leads to higher yields in the mornings and evenings.
"We have adapted SysCalc to suit the needs of installers. It optimizes the yield of PV installations and carries out complex calculations for them, now also taking into consideration reactive power,' says David Bassie, Product Manager Solar of Mastervolt.
